The Word of God is enough

If it is knowing the truth that sets us free, and we are not free, can we possibly know the truth? Imagine that for a moment. What if the reason we are free from being a slave to sin, which is what knowing the truth will deliver us from according to John 8:31-37, is the only reason we are still given over to sins (John 8:31-37, Romans 1:28-32)? What do we need to do about that?

Most Christians do not realize the power contained in the Word of God, but it is able to turn God’s people from evil all by itself.

Jeremiah 23:22
22 But if they had stood in My counsel, And had caused My people to hear My words, Then they would have turned them from their evil way And from the evil of their doings. NKJV

The Word of God works just like it is written. A little human wisdom here and a little philosophy there and don’t be shocked if things don’t work out like they are promised. That’s one of the biggest reasons why the methods I will show you are not well known and widely used amongst church people today. We mention home remedies and old wives tales long before we mention God’s ways. After everything else fails, that’s when we look to God.

If you are a believer, then just believe the Word of God like it is written and put it into practice. You do not need anything else on top of what is written, not a single thing. God doesn’t need any of us to add to the Word He has left us, and we are not even to think beyond what is written (1 Corinthians 4:6 below). Listen to the following verse again, and then ask yourself if the Word of God is enough to turn God's people from evil?

Jeremiah 23:22
22 But if they had stood in My counsel, And had caused My people to hear My words, Then they would have turned them from their evil way And from the evil of their doings. NKJV

God's Word alone will turn God's people from evil according to that passage of scripture. However, most of us aren't satisfied with that, so we add our human wisdom to it, which takes away from the power already contained in the Word (1 Corinthians 1:17). My friend, we don’t need anything else. God will honor His Word and give us everythign else (2 Peter 1:3-4).

Besides that, God could see our whole life before the Bible was even written and that is the only thing He left for us to live by. If you needed something else He would have left it. Trust what God left us!

Proverbs 30:5-6
5 Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. 6 Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar. NKJV

1 Corinthians 4:6
6 Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other. NKJV

I’m here to tell you that my New King James Bible works just like it is written without adding one single thing to it. Praise God. If your version of the Bible doesn’t work, perhaps it has been altered with human wisdom and philosophy like the Message translation, but it really doesn't matter which Bible you use, as long as you set your heart to believe God.

I started with a Bible called "the Book," which wasn't even a Bible at that time, but my heart was set on trusting God above man, and so God changed my Bible, and He can change yours (Philippians 3:15-16). However, I will proclaim that my 1982 New King James Bible works just like it is written. If you cannot say the same thing, it may be time to switch.

I am a servant and my service is free of charge to other disciples in keeping with 1 Peter 4:10-11. My promise to you is that I will speak according to what is written, like those who are sent by God to speak, and not with human wisdom or philosophy (Colossians 2:8). And the Word of God itself will turn those who believe it from evil.

I'm trusting in God to do what He has promised, as I have seen Him do it, time and time again. All I am asking you to do is to believe the verses that I will show you, and learn them from your own version of the Bible. God will reward you if you diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

If you will believe the verses that I will show you, and you are ready for results according to faith in Jesus Christ then I will help you. If not, I am so sorry. I will not argue back and forth with people who do not believe the Bible. I don't mean that in a bad way, but the power of God is already contained in His Word (Romans 1:16-19). I have no power of my own, but I use His power to help people who believe overcome sins that lead to death.

I have spent enough time arguing with people who do not believe this verse or that verse for one reason or another. Let me tell you a secret. If you do not believe God’s Word, you will not be able to receive anything from the Lord (James 1:5-7). So there is no use in me going back and forth with people who have a problem with this verse or that verse, and at the end of the day they can’t get things to work like they are written in the Bible. It isn’t going to work for them because they do not believe.

Being a Christian is not something we try. It’s something we do. We deny ourselves, and follow Jesus (Matthew 16:24-25). Most problems concerning scripture arises from people who do not want to deny what they think is right.

Start with the Can We Stop Sinning page, and then the Should We Stop Sinning page, because they contain a lot of information about sin that most Christians skip over. If you have questions, ask, and Lord willing, I will answer you with the verses that answer your questions.

You do not have to buy any of my books in order to receive my help, but if you want to jump start this process, I suggest reading the latest one first, “Stop Sinning and Be Healed.” Many people that I have worked with in the past ten years have experienced healing during the process of working on their sins, even without having people pray for them. Praise God.

The lack of knowledge effect

God's people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). You may hear me say that a lot because I want people to realize how much it affects our everyday life as Christians. Knowledge of what is written in our Bibles can drastically change our behavior (John 8:31-32, Romans 1:28-32, Matthew 12:34).

The bottom line is that if we knew all of the spiritual principles that we should know as Christians, we would act differently in certain situations. For example, if you knew the folowing verse, it would work all by itself on the inside of us to change our behaivior (1 Thessalonians 2:13, Hebrews 4:12).

Matthew 6:14-15 "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. NKJV

Knowing Matthew 6:14-15 would make a believer forgive everyone in order that he would be forgiven. Jesus said that if we do not forgive, we won't be forgiven. We need to know that.

We sing songs in church that say we are all forgiven, and we hear sermons declaring that we are forgiven, but few of us know that condition. We need to know that because there are a lot of well-meaning Christians out there who are full of un-forgiveness. There "lack of knowledge" will eventualy bring about their destruction.

In the same light, read the following passage.

Proverbs 17:13 Whoever rewards evil for good, Evil will not depart from his house. NKJV

Here again "lack of knowledge" can bring a lifetime of hardship. How many well-meaning Christian households today are cursed with evil because they have unknowingly treated someone with evil, who provided them with goodness? Think about that.

Lack of knowledge will always bring about destruction. That's why the first thing that God wants Christians to do is to stop conforming to this world, and renew our mind with the truth (Romans 12:1-2). It is knowing the truth that will set us free from being a slave to sin (John 8:31-37). Check that passage of scripture. Jesus told the Jews that they would seek to kill Him because they had no room for His Word in their heart (John 8:37). The same is true today.

Help, I'm stuck in sin

Sometimes we just need for someone to point in the right direction (conformation), and sometimes we are so far away from the right path that pointing isn’t going to work out. In the past ten years, I have discovered that there are Christians who want to do what is right, and receive the results they are seeking, and then there are those who want results without following the instructions.

What is Bearing Fruit?

Every Christian has an idea of what bearing fruit is, but we need to know what the Bible says that it is. Bearing fruit is not only connected to our ability to stop sinning, but those who do not bear fruit will not make it (John 15:1-6). All Christians should learn what it is, and how to do it.
